프로비던스 대학교는 총장과 학장이 전 세계 여러 기관에서 수년간 기도, 교육, 사역 및 선교 경험을 쌓아온 결과물입니다.   

이 과정에서 현 총장과 학장은 현 신학부 학장 및 대학 재무 담당자와 함께 기도하며, 세상에 살아있는 복음을 전파하기 위해 자격을 갖춘 영적으로 충만한 전문가를 양성하는 것을 유일한 목적으로 하는 선교 대학을 설립하기로 결심했습니다. 

창립 멤버들의 선교 활동은 아시아, 러시아, 동유럽, 유럽, 아프리카, 중앙아시아, 북미, 중미, 남미 등 60개국 이상을 아우르며 다양한 문화적 관찰과 경험을 쌓게 해주었습니다. 

그 결과, 펀자브 대학교는 선교사, 목회자, 그리고 미래의 지도자들이 전 세계에서 공부할 수 있도록 문을 열었습니다. 2019년 가을 학기에는 태국 선교사들을 위한 첫 선교학 수업을 개설했으며, 17명의 학생들이 신학박사(선교학), 신학석사(선교학), 그리고 신학 석사 학위 과정을 밟았습니다.  

Providence University is a culmination of many years of prayer, teaching, ministry and mission experience by the president and the academic dean of the university at various institutions around the world.   

During this process, the current president and the academic dean joined in prayer with the current theology dean and the treasurer of the university to form a mission university with sole purpose of raising highly qualified and spiritually charged professionals to bringing a living gospel around the world. 

Mission experiences by the founding members have taken them to more than 60 countries with varying degrees rich cross-cultural observations and experiences from Asia, Russia, Eastern Europe, Europe, Africa, Central Asia, North, Central and to South America and beyond. 

As a result, PU has opened its doors to welcome missionaries, pastors and future leaders to study around the world.  We have opened our first mission classes to Thailand missionaries in the Fall 2019 with 17 students with degrees in Th.D. Missiology, Th.M. in Missiology and Master of Divinity.
